Usage and overage

Every plan includes a daily call limit (see the table above) alongside its per-second rate limit. Effective November 3, 2026, requests are blocked once you reach your plan’s daily limit, unless overage is turned on. Paid plans (Lite tier and above) can turn on overage to keep requests running past the daily limit. It is off by default. To turn it on:
  1. Go to your API dashboard.
  2. Under Usage Limit Preferences, turn on Allow Overage Charges.
  3. Set a monthly spend cap.
When overage is on:
  • Overage is billed monthly at $0.00003 per call ($3 per 100,000 calls), based on your current billing cycle.
  • Once your monthly spend cap is reached, overage requests are blocked until the next billing cycle begins or you increase the cap. Your daily limit continues to reset as usual.
  • Your per-second rate limit still applies.
When overage is off, requests are blocked once you reach your daily limit, until it resets. To raise the daily limit instead, upgrade your plan.

Free tier

Free tier usage is capped at the daily limit, with no overage. Once you reach it, requests are blocked until the limit resets. To go past the cap, upgrade to a paid plan.
